What will happen after I take a remedy?
This is the big question. Its hard for me to give a shopping list of what will happen. Sometimes the remedies have huge effects the next day, and sometimes it's very subtle and the changes happen over the period of a month. My best advice is be patient and let the remedies do their work. After treating a lady with terrible allergies to her new puppy, which went away within a few weeks, she came back in to tell me that the nightmares she has had all of her life had disappeared also. For each person the shopping list is different.

How do I find the remedy?
Most health food stores carry homeopathic remedies. I have also seen them pop up in a few conventional pharmacies. Some towns have alternative pharmacies, which usually carry the most remedies. Please see our resource page for both local and online purchasing options. However, your homeopath is usually the best resource for you.

How do I take the remedy?
It's best not to have anything in the mouth for 15 minutes before and after taking the remedy. Don’t touch the pellets, as the medicine is on the outside of the pellet. Tip the pellets into the cap of the bottle and tip the pellets straight under your tongue. This is called “sublingual” it’s the fastest way to get a medicine into your system. This system is even used by western medicine for heart medication.

Can I overdose?
No. All the remedies are only sold in very safe dilutions whether your remedy comes in liquid, pellet, compressed tablet or soft tablet form. All these forms dissolve easily under the tongue. If you think of the remedy as energy it is easier to understand the rest. The size of the dose (number of tablets) makes little or no difference, it is the potency and frequency of repetition that matters - 6 volts is 6 volts regardless of the size of the wire.

Is homeopathy safe?
Homeopathy is extremely safe because only a very small amount of the substance is used in a specially prepared form that is readily absorbed by the body. Homeopathic medicines have been FDA regulated since 1938. Homeopathy is often given to newborns and the elderly and can be helpful during pregnancy.

How is homeopathy different from herbs or other alternatives?
First and foremost, all homeopathic remedies are FDA regulated. The homeopathic pharmaceutics follow the guidelines of the HUPS which have stricter guidelines than the FDA. So when the label says “Arnica Montana” you know that you are receiving the right substance. Remedies are not in their raw state anymore, unlike western drugs and herbs which can sometimes cause side effects and unsafe for children or pregnancy. When you take a homeopathic remedy, it elicits an immune response by activating your immune system. But because the medicine has been diluted and the toxins removed, there are no side effects.

What about religion and homeopathy?
Homeopathy is scientifically based on principles of physics and chemistry. My patients come from all different walks of life and religions. Many religious leaders advocate the use of homeopathy as it doesn’t involve the use of drugs. Homeopathy is not a religion, it's a system of medicine and will not interfere with your religion or belief system.

Will it interfere with what I’m currently taking?
While homeopathic medicines do not interfere with western drugs or treatments, certain drugs or treatments may affect the actions of the homeopathic medicine. Usually my patients’ health improves by using homeopathy, and fewer prescription drugs are needed. Always speak to your doctor before changing, reducing or terminating medication that has been prescribed for you.

I had an instant reaction!
"My rash that I had not had in 20 years came back!"
Homeopathic medicines have no known side effects. If you have had suppressed symptoms in the past your body wants to literally throw them off and out. This is one of the healing processes your body may experience. This is a healthy way to heal.
